Reserve your spot at Easter Brunch

Make April 16 special by taking the entire family or friends out to Easter brunch at the Club at McChord Field. Enter Bowl Arena Lanes’ no-tap team tournaments

Have fun competing with other teams at Bowl Arena Lanes’ doubles no-tap team tourneys Saturdays, April 8, May 20 and June 10. Check in at noon; play begins at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $50 per two-person team.

Sell at Spring Flea Market

Sell your household and yard treasures at JBLM’s Spring Flea Market in the FMWR Tent off Liggett Ave. at JBLM-Lewis Main April 22, 9 a.m.- 1 p.m.  No crafts or home-business items will be accepted.

If you’re an authorized ID cardholder, sign up to rent spaces or tables by emailing specialevents@jblmmwr.com or calling 253-967-6772. The cost for two tables, spaces or a combination is $26. For three spaces, tables or a combination, pay $30. Each additional table or space is $6. 

Bring family to Easter Dash egg hunt

Everyone at JBLM is invited to the BOSS Easter Dash, a free egg hunt at Cowan Stadium at Lewis Main on Easter Sunday, April 16. Bring your own baskets for each child.
Special needs youth with parents can collect eggs at noon. Ages 3 and younger can collect eggs at 1 p.m., ages 4-7 at 2 p.m. and ages 8-12 at 3 p.m.  All youth receive a free goody bag.

Cowan Stadium is at 2170 Bitar and 12th at JBLM-Lewis Main.

Miss Oktoberfest? Attend Volksfest!

If you love the fun and festivities of Oktoberfest and wish we’d celebrate spring the same way, then you’re in luck! Come out to Volksfest at the Club at McChord Field Wednesday, April 5 from 5–7 p.m.
You’ll be treated to an authentic, delicious German buffet with a live oompah band, German beer on tap and Riesling (for those preferring wine).

The cost is $22.95 for ages 11 and older, $12.95 for ages 4–10 and free for ages 3 and younger. Reservations are required; call 253-982-5581. The Club is located at 700 Barnes Blvd.

Enter Awareness Run

Enter the free JBLM 5K Awareness Run Saturday, April 29 at the MWR Fest Tent. Register online at JBLMmwr.com/races. The first 1,000 to register receive a free T-shirt and a custom finisher’s medal (registration is capped at 2,000). Registration is open to the JBLM community only. Units with 50 or more participants running together in formation get a chance to win a 2017 JBLM Awareness Run streamer for their unit guidon. Also enjoy a photo booth, arts and crafts, information booths and giveaways.

Bowling Center hours changes

Bowl Arena Lanes is changing its hours starting Saturday, April 1. It will be open Sunday from 1–7 p.m., Monday–Thursday from 11 a.m.–7 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. All-You-Can-Eat Pizza and Bowling will be from 4:30–7 p.m. Wednesdays. Sounders Lanes’ new hours start Monday, April 10. It will be open Tuesday–Thursday from 11 a.m.–7 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. and Saturday from noon–9 p.m. Sounders Lanes will be closed Sunday and Monday. Cosmic Bowling will be from 7–9 p.m. Saturdays. Call 253-982-5954 for more details.

Join open softball teams

Join JBLM’s open softball recreational, competitive and women’s teams. The cost to register is $250 per team. The season begins April 1 at Lewis North Athletic Complex. Attend a sign-up meeting March 15 at 6 p.m. at Nelson Recreation Center. Players without teams are encouraged to attend the coaches meeting for team placement. Open to JBLM community ID cardholders ages 18 and older.

Sign up for manicure & martini event

Get a manicure while you sip a martini at the Club at McChord Field’s Manicure & Martini event Friday, March 10 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. Sam Adams bracket challenge

Enter Samuel Adams Brewhouse JBLM’s free March Madness Bracket Challenge! Come in and pick up a 2017 bracket Feb. 27 through March 13. You have until 7 p.m. March 13 to submit a completed bracket for a chance to win a pair of Powerbeats 3 wireless headphones from Beats by Dre.
The person who has the most game wins throughout the entire tournament wins the headphones. The limit is one bracket submission per person. The winner will be notified Thursday, April 6.

Attend Mardi Gras celebration

Join in the Mardi Gras celebration at the Club at McChord Field Feb. 24 from 5-7:30 p.m. and let the good times roll! Choose from Cajun foods on the three-course dinner menu for only $20 per person. McChord Auto Center open Sundays on trial basis

Starting Feb. 12, the McChord Auto Center will be open on Sundays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. to gauge customer usage for a 90-day trial. The McChord Auto Center offers do-it-yourselfers a heated, fully equipped space to work on personal vehicles for a fee. The center also offers classes in vehicle maintenance. Enter Shamrock ‘n Run

The entire family can have fun at the 2017 5K Shamrock ‘n Run March 11 at the MWR Fest Tent at Lewis Main.
Enter a costume contest, get in on giveaways, bring the kids for a 1K race, plus bounce houses, popcorn and cotton candy. A beer garden for ages 21 and older is also available. The kids’ 1K starts at 11 a.m.; the 5K starts at 11:30 a.m.

Attend the JBLM Aquatics Lifeguard Fair

Attend the JBLM Aquatics Lifeguard Fair Feb. 25 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Soldiers Field House Pool. Employment opportunities are for lifeguards and water safety instructors. Pay is $11.21-$15 per hour. Interested individuals should come prepared with swimwear. An opportunity to earn lifeguard certification is also available.

Like microbrews and homebrews? Sample the best at the annual JBLM Brewfest Feb. 10 at the Club at McChord Field.
The party starts at 4:30 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. For $15 per guest, you’ll get your own sampling mug to keep, six samples, appetizers, a live bluegrass band - the Oly Mountain Boys - and door prizes. Pay $5 more for 5 additional samples.
Brewfest homebrew competition winners will also be announced at 6 p.m. Brewfest is hosted by JBLM and the Homebrewers of Puget Sound and is an AHA/BJCP-sanctioned competition.
